I am a retired fruit & vegetable merchant and was Carnoustie's longest serving town provost.
I was responsible for the formation of the Carnoustie Business Association, of which I was re-elected President of until recently, the annual Gala Week and the Carnoustie & District Heritage Society.
I have been a lifelong supporter of highland games, being a past secretary of the oldest highland games in the world, namely the Ceres Highland Games. I have also been a chairman and Vice President of the Arbroath Highland Games. |

I worked for the Bank of Scotland for nealy 30 years until I became dis-illusioned with the way the Bank was going, so I resigned. I went on to do short-term contract agency work mainly in administration and computing fields.
I spent a period of four years with the Women's Royal Naval Reserve with the Degaussing Unit and was an active member of Carnoustie Musical Society for 25 years, appearing on the stage in a variety of amateur musicals.
I am a keen walker and enjoy daily walks along Carnoustie's coastal front.
